Your Information
Privacy Policy
This notice explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect, why we need it, how long we keep it and the rights you have over it.
Your Information
Only the Information We Need
We only ask for the information we need to answer your enquiry, carry out work in your home and meet our legal duties. We never sell your information, and we do not use it for anyone else's marketing.

Who We Are
This website is run by JT Heating & Plumbing Ltd, trading as JT Plumbing & Heating, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 12680041. We are based in Walton on Thames, Surrey, KT12 2DE.
We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. If you have any question about it, email us at info@jt-plumbingandheating.com or call 01932 640 256.
What We Collect
When you send an enquiry through our website, we collect the details you enter in the form. You can also give us the same information by phone, WhatsApp or email.
- Your name, phone number and email address
- Your full address and postcode, so we know where the work is
- Details of the job, such as your boiler, heating or plumbing problem
- When you would like the work to start
- A photo of the boiler or problem, if you choose to send one
If We Work for You
If you go ahead with a job, we also keep records of the work: quotes, invoices and payments, the appliances we worked on, and any certificates and reports we issue, such as gas safety records, service reports and Building Regulations notifications for new boilers. If you are a tenant, we may receive your name and contact details from your landlord or letting agent so we can arrange access.
Why We Use Your Information
UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for using your information. These are the ones we rely on.
- To reply to your enquiry, give you a quote and arrange a fixed appointment slot: because you have asked us to take steps before entering into a contract with you
- To carry out the work, invoice you and deal with any questions or complaints about it: to perform our contract with you
- To keep financial records and to issue and keep gas safety records and Building Regulations notifications: to meet our legal obligations
- To remind you when your next boiler service or gas safety check is due, and to keep a history of the work we have done on your home: in our legitimate interests in looking after our customers, and you can ask us to stop at any time
How Long We Keep It
If your enquiry does not lead to any work, we delete your details within 12 months. If we do work for you, we keep job, invoice and payment records for 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, because tax law requires it, and we keep gas safety records and certificates for at least as long as the law requires. Photos you send are kept only as long as they are useful for your job.
Cookies and Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use this website: which pages are visited, and when someone taps our phone number, email address or WhatsApp link or sends an enquiry. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. Their names begin with _ga and they can last for up to two years. Google provides this service to us and may process the information outside the UK, under the safeguards UK law requires.
We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics collecting information about your visits (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
Some parts of our pages come from other services, which may set their own cookies or receive technical details such as your IP address: the security check on our enquiry form (Cloudflare Turnstile), the Which? Trusted Traders reviews on our home page and the fonts our pages use (Google Fonts). The postcode checker on our area pages sends only the first part of the postcode you type to postcodes.io, to work out the distance from our base.
Your Rights
You have rights over the personal information we hold about you. To use any of them, email info@jt-plumbingandheating.com or call 01932 640 256. We will usually reply within one month, and there is normally no charge.
- To ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- To ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- To ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need to keep it
- To ask us to limit how we use your information
- To object to us using your information, including for service reminders
- To ask for your information in a format you can pass to another organisation
How to Complain
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at info@jt-plumbingandheating.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it without undue delay, keep you informed and tell you the outcome.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection. You can contact the ICO on 0303 123 1113 or through its website at ico.org.uk.
